1/6 was worse because of what was so close to happening. If they kill those politicians democracy would have died with it until a new bloody civil war happened. It would have put the battery in the back of every racist cac in this nation who screams about their right to bare arms and stock piles weapons,it would have been open season on us black folks like Katrina on steroids, nation wide. MSNBC had a segment about it this morning. DoJ is relying on 3rd party people doing vid analysis to identify people in the footage. The estimate is that there were around 3000 people there total. First year of the investigation they arrested ~700 people. The 2nd year that number fell to about 200. So either there was a shift in prosecutorial priorities, or there are less solid cases to make.
Either way it's a moot point because there are sympathizers all throughout government and nobody has the stomach for serious house-cleaning.
