"everything happens for a reason", that is 100% not true lol
I feel like Jay has evolved, he's no academic, but far from a dummy. He has a realistic view, but i feel like he still needs someone a bit more polished to give him the game of politics. Only line i wasnt feeling at the end, was his kind of naive view only voting democrats because that's all we know, while not using that chance to call out all the gerrymandering and disenfranchisement the gop is constantly doing to undermine the black vote....Proud to be a Jay fan since 98 in middle school....Dude is an inspiration. And a reminder that this is what you should expect from athletes and celebrities. I remember in 2013 I was critical of Jay, like he should be speaking out more and working towards more than money, but he took his time, and did it when he was ready. It is truly great to see. The same day as that Roc Nation Brunch too, I think.
I will say sometimes he sounds a little too...yoga pants & sage for my taste lol

@Robbie3000 gotta talk about this on the podcast
Low key Jay gave progressives what should be one of their future talking point to win over older black voters.![]()
Man dis dude don't age, but let's be real.... Nas Won!
This man is a rich fukk & he telling people respect them first and giving them jobs is an afterthought(not saying trump sparked job growth).
This is how Dems lost, Trump won because Hillary and the DNC were the first to nominate him and then he just spoke about jobs.
Fukk respect, people need to pay their bills and have food on the table(not saying trump doing that).
To have that statement means he is truly disconnected, wow this man from Macy.
In any case, the superbug analogy was interesting.
Overall kind of a useless interview.
I think that's the most important thing.Agreed but he has to feign anger at Trump somehow...you're not allowed to say that people could care less about Trump being offensive as long as the money is right..
hmm.... maybe.. that's an interesting point. Also, he's "superbug" comment is really calling out being "politically correct" low key. Saying that repressing free expression of disdain and even open bigotry caused the superbug that is Trump.
PrimariesWhy are you winning over a demographic that's already going to go out and vote for you?
