Is a NFL pocket passer an athlete? Especially if he's in the shotgun. Throwing a ball is about skill, timing, and reading a defense. You just gotta not be a slob so you move backwards from under center. You need a certain level of arm/shoulder strength, but you need that to swing it 300plus yards.

Yes because it takes athletic ability and skill in combination to throw the football and survive sacks. Here's another one...

It's easier to train someone to be a race car driver then a football, hockey, basketball, baseball, hockey, rugby, boxer, gymnasticathlete.

NFL passers are all bigger, faster and throw harder than the average person. Every one of them has athletic ability. It is true that throwing a more involves more than athletic ability but throwing itself is an athletic feat. Driving a car is something anyone can do even if not every person has the skill to do it in a race.

Then McNabb shouldn't get touchy over N bombs and wreckless talk since its lie being talked. Unless he really s the names rednecks call him.

Your logic is pretty flawed...

But golf is a sport. You walk at least 5 miles, usually drunk outside a professional events and gotta knock balls 300yrds to be competive.

No sport you can play drunk requires any type of athleticism.

Does an air force fighter pilot classify as an athlete?

Yes. I don't dig anything football crowds say about athleticism. :aicmon: I remember that thread on who is the most athletic and dudes on here were naming Jevon kearse etc..:snoop: The question wasn't what sport is the most popular. It was who is the most athletic. With that said hell yes an F-16 pilot is an athlete.

:snoop: Don't hit them with logic. The most important position on the field and you can look like this

You don't have to be the most athletic breh on the field to dictate the outcome of the game. If the quarterback position had to do more with athleticism, more brothers would be playing the position. Saying it's easy to control a car going 150 mph is foolish. If you've ever been a car traveling that speed, you not only have to be out of your mind but you'd also have to going in a straight line. I couldn't imagine actually traveling those speeds around corners with other drivers traveling similar speeds.

I don't give a shyt about racing but lets discuss how if you are 7' tall you don't need any kind of athleticism or talent to make it to the NBA. I watched Thabeet very closely. He's garbage but can't hate on how he's making millions for sitting around :pachaha:

Dunno about Nascar, but F1 drivers:

can keep their heart rate over 200 for a few hours

can take 5+ G's of force on their necks (supports about 25kg)

usually have body fat percentages of under 10

have split second reaction times

if Willfork can be called an athlete then why can't a driver? :manny:
