Out here in my damn drawls
No and this is flat out asinine. Teams win championships in team sports. Not individuals.
Its impossible to define a player based on his help. Its not even fair.

That's why I have always had problems with the MVP voting criteria. The best is the best, regardless of the team's record

If a player is out there giving teams headaches and playing on another level, it's their award to win

Don't see it like that If your a all-time great you should be able to get a title no matter what the cards you been given...at some point it might just be you as the player messing up....Iverson was great but he was a chucker you cant blame that on the 76's FO .....who could play with him and shine:lupe:

It took Dirk longer than 7. You don't consider him a 'superstar'?

Being a die hard Rockets fan I'll tell you Dirk is a superstar but he came in with the Lakers 3-Peating and Spurs were building a dynasty he got his one but it would be hard to ask him to get more. And honestly I don't think he should have got that one if Lebron was on the shyt he on now.

Let's not act like he played with any greats in philly though. Similar to what I was hearing in regards to LBJ after the playoff series against the magic. You can ball out of your mind but it might not matter. That guy averaged 39/8/8 while shooting 50% on the series. Cracked 40 points on 3 occasions. Didn't matter since nobody else even shot 40% from the field. The 1999-2000 lakers won the finals despite kobe averaging 15.6 a game on 36% shooting and he even missed a game. Shaq averaged 28/12 in the 1995 finals but orlando got swept. In the 2012 playoffs, Mark Texiera batted nearly .300 and derek Jeter batted nearly .400. The Yankees still batted .188 as a team for the playoffs. No matter how well one person plays, their own showing can only go so far. Dwyane Wade averaged over 33 points a game while shooting 56% from the field in the first round against Boston in 2010. Miami lost in 5. Takes a team clicking on many levels to get it done. shyt, miami found a way to win the 2006 finals with Shaq averaging maybe 14/9, and the lakers found a way to win game 7 against Boston with kobe shooting 6-24. In 2000 against Portland in game 7, Shaq only had 18/9. Greats can do a lot, but nobody does it alone.

You nikkaz gotta factor in the city the superstar plays in. I see ppl naming mj, shaq & Kobe. Chicago & LA arent exactly places i would deem difficult in luring free agents
