I think it's more likely that Kanye signed him for cheap on some "just in case" speculative shyt. Same with Drake and Makonnen. I'm gonna feature this dude's song on my album and make him hot, might as well throw him a little 100k to sign. Worst case scenario, I break even and get their creative energy. He's a developed artist, he's by most these nikkas definition a "plant" because he didn't just come out of nowhere and get cashed in on by a record company for having a song that's trending.
