My wife concurs with the OP. She encourages me to be a flirt. I'm quiet and low-key by nature so she she knows that I probably won't take it too far. She's given me a hall pass in case it does but I never plan on taking her up on it. Worst case scenario is that it's a small form of insurance in case anything ever does happen however.

I got a friend out here from college, who is married. He tells me he needs to hit the lounges just to see if he still has "it". He doesn't go off the reservation and smash, but he does see if he has the "ability" too. What you implying may have some truth.

I was told by older male relatives as a tween to always speak to women in a cordial manner and smile. I think they were low key telling me this, so their interaction with other women wouldn't be taken out of context with regards to their wives, but also as a word of advice for the future.
