Where and when did Premier say that? I’ve never heard him say that, only that it was the one song idea that Nas came to him with and had him build a beat with which he could tell the story.

Pharaoh Monch said he spoke to Nas about it and Nas told him he wasn’t directly inspired by stray bullet but it was a “great minds think alike” situation.

I think Pac actually respected Nas, plus by labeling Nas the “ringleader” he was implicitly saying Biggie wasn’t on his level. Chess, not checkers. I know there are some people who hate on Hit ‘Em Up because of the Outlawz (which wasn’t even bad), but Pac said himself on the song that he was sending his little homies to ride on them because they (Biggie and them) wasn’t on his level.

Pac definitely respected Nas and the respect was mutual. Pac thought Nas dissed him on The Message and he was mad because he and Nas had previously had a conversation and he told Nas he loved him and there was no beef so Nas should stay out of his gihad against Biggie and Bad Boy. When they met up at Central Park they spoke like men and squashed any misunderstandings and Pac told Suge he was going to take all of the Nas disses off Makaveli but when he died Suge decided to release the album as it was.
