And Tom Hooper's directing was......not good.

It was alright, Sasha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter were entertaining as hell, had the best scene in the movie imo. And Hathaway killed her solo...

anne hathaway's solo was the definition of

hugh jackman was great too.

crowe didn't fit.

i cant get into most musicals, that being said, i like the direction they went with by having them do real singing in scene instead of lip syncing. i just wonder if you will get burned out by this style of performing after a certain amount of time. i am also hearing bad things about russel crowe's singing

It absolutely burns you out by the end. But Hooper putting the camera two inches from everyone's face was the bigger problem.
