Actually, this is one of the best movies over the last decade. Oscar bait shyt that actually has a point, used story devices well and is very compelling throughout.

I finally got around to watching this and aside from that hilarious opening credits this was some dark shyt.
Really well acted and I wasn't taken out by Jake Gyllenhall's character in the book not doing more to stop what happened to his family. Most people are terrible in low level stressful situations let alone in situations like what happened to his family on the side of that road.

Shannon, Gyllenhaal and ATJ were all great in this. Their performances alone make this movie super rewatchable. That highway scene is fukking tense. Amy Adam’s kills it too… Plus those PAWGs at the beginning
