I think a lot of people are in that boat. If this was a top of the line phone, I'd probably still take the plunge because XDA is amazing when it comes to stuff like this.

You wouldn't be able to tell. Some of them still use the standard @gmail.com addresses. The others use .edu or their own domain without any gmail indication....

Obviously the school or business will use their own email address domain but will use the gmail server and interface. Ever heard of NewsCorp?
