Sanford and Sons, Jeffersons, GoodTimes were never broadcasted in Haiti. Unless your folks already spoke english when these shows were at their peak and TeleHaiti (haitian cable company) broadcasted some of the shyt in English and they watched it. But i highly doubt TH broadcasted network sitcoms. That would be TNH (Tele Nationale) and unless it was translated into french or kreyol TNH aint broadcasting it back in those days

You would be surprised. I had never heard of the names Marvin Gaye and all these MoTown artists until i moved to the United Stated as a teenager in 1993. You may have a few rich kids that had access to american music via CableTV and would listen to it at home but nowhere in public would you hear american music in Haiti if it wasnt Prince, Michael Jackcon, Stevie Wonder and big names like that. THose will get a bit of playtime, yes. But not all your nobodies get play time on the radio abroad.

That's what im saying: They didnt watch them while in Haiti. They watched them here. Which i did too when i moved here in 1993. All reruns of said shows of course. American shows didnt start to broadcast in Haiti until late 80s and early 90s and it was only those that were translated in french like Cosby Show, Three's company and Who's the Boss. TNH wasnt gonna pay all that money to rebroadcast shyt that was in english which 99% of its audience couldnt understand. TH is another story but #1 very few people could even afford it and #2 they didnt broadcast sitcoms from what i recall. Mostly a few american shows but it was mostly movies from HBO and the other big networks
