Non black people are now going back to their own music. They want to listen to their own artists again.

I don't know about all that but the fact that an afrobeat song hit number 3 on the hot 100 is more impressive than it going number 1 in uk or most European countries because compare to Europe, African population percentage wise is low in the Americas. That means it's not just Africans liking these records and inflating their position on the charts like kpop and Latin music which have an advantage because their population are massive compared to Africans here.
I said for many years people wanted to dance and have fun. Rap was getting low in bpms every generation. Now it's just vibe music even if it's club music. Not really danceable like even the early 2000's

Fun is number one for a lot of people.

People always listened to a wide variety of music.

Do ya'll not remember the initial "Latin wave" in America with artists like Shakira, Enrique Iglesias, Ricky Martin, Selena, Daddy Yankee, Aventura, Don Omar, Marc Anthony, J-Lo, etc. Latinos been f*cking with their own music.

What's happening now is that we're living in a "post genre" era where people listen to a wide variety of music on their Spotify playlists.

Now, more than ever before, you have people that'll have Kendrick, Nine Inch Nails, Bad Bunny, BTS, and Rihanna on the same playlist. People today aren't as tied to one genre as much as they used to be. Has nothing to do with people "going back" to the genres that were already popular with their groups.
