Grenada but my fam is from there so I'm bias... Still has one of the best beaches in the world (Grand Anse). Best time to go is in August around Carnival time...
Aruba probably has the most going on in terms of social/night life since damn near everything is legal down there.. E.g., drugs, prostitution, etc.. So expect lots of hit Latin American prostitues
. The locals very mixed so expect some 
vibes . Otherwise it's cool, nice beach & only island with a desert and cactus 
St. Kitts, Barbados, Grenada, St. Lucia, St. Vincent is probably your best bet if you're looking for Afro-Carib/black culture and good people etc.. on a small island level with enough to do for a week or 2 vacation.
My advice would be to get cool with locals on those islands so you'll get a good mix of the tourist stuff & real island experience.

Well you said you didn't like Europe, have you tried South Africa? If not try Gabon. I've only been to South Africa though.

Not too sure about the Virgin Islands but I assume not too much different from all the others.
Our (Grenada) national dish is called "Oil Down". Follow that with a drink called "Rivers" . As far as green goes
our island code name /aka name is "Greenz" so that's easy to find 
. Barbados probably the only other small island with more easy to find But yeah get good with the locals and they'll have you real nice.
