And it's not about sparing feelings. I'm just saying, I respect religious persons, just as I expect them to respect me as a non-religious person. Everyone is entitled to their choice. My beef is when they try to convert me or act like they're better than me or that without religion there are no morals blah blah blah...you know the drill. This happens with my sister, she knows that I'm non religious but she is, so she prays before eating. Out of respect, I bow my head and keep silent. Nothing more, nothing less.

You're still missing the point. Re-read the quote, once a mode of belief has been prescribed to, everything about it can be justified within its own context. You are NOT going to reason people out of their beliefs no matter what size you blow up the words to. Stop trying.

And not for their sakes, it makes no difference to them, but because it is the logical thing to do.

I respect them enough to not engage them on the topic of religion...BUT if it gets brought up, i'm dropping the epistemological hammer on them. No holds barred.

I used to think this way, but I threw all caution to the wind once I realized that if they weren't going to get the point, then when confronted I was just going to go straight for their necks.
