Here in NYC Ricans and black folks have lived side by side for years. At least they aknowledge their african ancestry unlike Dominicans. I grew up with Ricans in Sunset Park my whole life. Are they allies in the struggle? Maybe but black folks will need to fix our own community economically and politically before we form alliances.

Yeah, it explains that i have actual experiences with Latinos.

I was born and raised in the projects with ricans,grew up fighting ricans,dating them,kicking it with them and befriending them.
Sure, there's some who are racist, i've met plenty of them irl but i rather focus on the ones who treat me good rather than grouping them all together because i know they're not all like that .

There is plenty wrong with the concept of race. For one, the logic of racism prevents people exploited all over the world from working together to gain freedom from their exploiters. Race is not a biological reality, but it is very real socially. But the way to overcome racism is not by more racism, but rather, solidarity with conscious people of all races.
