Great interview, and I swear these Queens n!ggaz are like a soap opera. Just endless beefs and intrigue. On another note, that Keep it Real track, with the hook, "I keep it real when a n!gga keep it real with me, I cut the hand of a n!gga tryin to steal from me" With Busta in the background yellin, "Cut ya hand off!" OMG!!! the first time I heard that!! The world could have came to an end that day and I wouldn't have cared.

Nah they wasn't dissin Infamous Mobb they was talking about Screwball.

:ohhh:I always thought he was talking bout the Infamous Mobb and I really was convinced after he called Ty Nitty a snitch in one of his songs. Screwball never even crossed my mind

Pretty sure Trag was writing most of them. Also, I always wonder why Tragedy was credited with producing 'Parole Violators' when that's clearly a Havoc beat and even has Hav on the hook. Did Trag strong arm that away from Havoc or did he really produce it?

Not sure about that. Their styles are very distinctly different. Maybe he helped with some lines like "Don't say that, say this. Put that line there" kinda thing.

Queensbridge and Philly, two hip hop scenes that squandered real potential to make a huge impact on the game due to a lack of unity. not to say QB hasn't had a huge impact but it could've been even bigger

they gave us a taste of what could've been if they had all just gotten along :to:

wait hold up....tragedy thought that 'Pone sounded like, and could spit like Nas, and pegged him as a future rap superstar????? Yeah, that nicca was definitely a basehead.

He kinda did sound like Nas though. Obviously Nas was the superior MC, but he definitely had that Nas like style.

Im not hearing what you're hearing at all....perhaps on some level they both have a similar queens influenced type inflections, but at the same time 'pone had a really high-pitched, nasal whine, while Nas' sound was smooth and rich (no weezy!). They're rhyme styles couldnt be more disparate, imo....Nas is introspective, deep, complex, while 'Pone was always extremely basic.

I actually disagree about their rhyming styles. Capone isn't basic at all. Nas is just a significantly better wordsmith than Capone, but as far as style, Capone is basically a poor man's Nas to me. Always was, really.

I honestly never thought of Nas when I heard Pone rap before this thread..i guess I can maybe hear it a lil bit if I reach for the stars..it's funny how Trag was hatin on Nas but was tryna make the next Nas at the same time..lol
