I had something similar happen to me this year, but it was more surprising than disappointing... When I was in HS, one of my close friends and teammate on our baseball team had a crazy crush on this girl we went to school with. Well, it turned out the girl was into me, so we dated for about a year. Everything was cool between all of us, but after graduation she went to a different college while me and my friend went to same school and still hung out occasionally. We pretty much lost touch after college, tho. Fast fwd 8 years to this summer and I was talking to my cousin who also went to HS with all of us. He was like "yo, you talk to ol boy lately? you know he married right?" I was just like "cool, nah I haven't talked to him in a while." He was like "Well, you'll like this... he married ol girl."

I got my own stuff going on and I live on the other side of the country now, so I wasn't hurt or nothing, but it was kinda weird to think about.
