The Embiid hate to me was always way OT. A lot of it seemed to come from salty Jokic fans.

I don't love every thing about Embiid's game and his playoff record just ain't good enough, but there's a level of hate for him that seems way out of proportion.

Embiid is soft lol WTF nikkas switchin em cause they got emotional off article? Its his playstyle. nikka 7ft 290lbs at least least and when it matter in playoffs when defenses clamp down instead of usin his size advantage over damn near everyone nikka wanna shoot fadeaways and play like a wing. Look at how Giannis or even Jokic when games slow down in halfcourt they bully nikkas in the post or inside like they post to.

He was also raised upper middle class IIRC maybe not wealthy wealthy but had a comfy life. Jokic country was bein bombed durin a war while he grew up and Giannis had to sell to be a street vendor at a early age sellin cheap sunglasses and little items just to survive livin in a 1 bedroom apartment wit his whole family. Giannis and Jokic def not soft but Embiid is he don't got they mentality which the main difference cause he just as talented. Lol I was all pro Embiid durin all Jokic debates till truth got too obvious to ignore. nikkas sayin he not soft now cause they read a article? Nah we not doin that :camby:

What does him being middle class have to do with anything. You can’t be soft and play through what he did and does. If he’s soft then I would assume you take no sick days off ever right.

The hate for Embiid has little to do with Jokic. shyt, the majority of cats on this board who voice their dislike for Embiid don’t fukk with Jokic to begin with, and some of them even reluctantly sided with Embiid purely out of disdain for Jokic.

I don’t think the hate for him has been out of proportion in comparison to any other star of today. 99.99999999999% of players are ridiculed and shat on, it’s just unfortunately what the game has turned into now. And in all honesty, I think he’s largely been a fleeting moment in the discourse of hate, especially given the energy he’s put out there in conjunction with his playoff failures.

Embiid came up in the wrong era. He’d be a certified legend if he played in the 80s/90s when the game would be a lot more forgiving on his body. Players with his style of play at his size just aren’t meant to last and be the best versions of themselves in today’s game.

Probably because Embiid and his fans turned his “damn nikka, here” MVP award into one of the most toxic campaigns I’ve ever seen :gucci:

I have empathy for Embiid, especially considering how he was treated amidst his brother dying, but dude shyts the bed and makes the wrong comments at the wrong time. I can understand not wanting to raise his children the way he was raised, protecting himself from everyone and having to become acclimated to the NBA superstar lifestyle in a relatively short timeframe, but the way he flamed out after winning MVP and saying that he and Harden can’t do it all was fukk nikka shyt
