What are they going to do ? To move on NK ? If SK forces cross the DMZ, Kim will know his regime his done. He will nuke Seoul and Busan. Nobody wants that.

But arming (and continued arming) of SK will upset NK and Kim is prone to wanton acts of stupidity just like Trump is

China does not give a fukk about NK beyond having a buffer state between them and SK, so they'll continue to arm them under the table, as well as provide them with oil and other things that defy the sanctions...until it no longer becomes beneficial to do so

SK is already stronger than NK. Look at their military and their budget. SK has a solid modern army. Nuke are the only equalizer. At this point, NK does not care: they have nuke.

When it comes to China, you're right ; they need a buffer state. And I don't see that thing changing, especially with the rise of tension in the South China Sea between China and the US.
