They stay in power because of cases like this thread highlighted. They restrict all outside media, will kill you for the slightest infraction, etc. Plus, most of NK is very poor. Actual survival is their main goal. If you never are made aware of outside countries, I think most would assume their situation is the same as everybody else’s. They don’t know better. Then there’s overt propaganda and indoctrination. It’s fukked up
