LOL.. samething I was thinking. never been to trinidad in DC, but i always here about it on the radio. Its a known fact but the DMV is a shinning example of " You pay for what you get". The lower the rent the more crime.

Exactly paying the mark up in Northern VA for a safer area is worth the money. Cause up here in NY just cause you paying more doesn't mean you living in a great neighborhood cause rent is increasing everywhere up here.

sorry, but DMV shyts all over chicago in every way....well, yall got a better skyline and restaurants (i lived in both places)

as for op 500-700 in nova :mjlol:....DMV is expensive, but it's more of a stable expensive IMO. yall don't want no parts of the Bay right now, this shyt hurts your soul

edit: this thread got me nostalgic, i really want to move back to DC

A family member of mines lived in San Fran and his rent was ridiculous. The Space was small as hell too. Chicago is a nice city. But crime wise Northern VA is way safer.

No shyt. DC might be better.

Try Trinidad out NE, if you're lucky you might could get a spot round 640 in Uptown. If all else fails, Simple City in SE got real affordable numbers.

Man, its like you can almost draw a chalk line with the rent/crime in this area. i get the rockville paper every month and they said something like they only have about 20 murders a yr. Wtf when I was living in Bmore we'd do that in a month easily. People wonder why I dont mind paying so much. lol

Trinidad was the neighborhood that got blockaded on some Iraq shyt during the "crime emergency" that suddenly got cacs living in the hood ever since. shyt was fukked up in Trinidad that summer tho, I dunno about literally treating it like a warzone but shyt was real.

I live in Richmond. I was thinking about moving up there until my cousin told me it takes her 2 hours to get to work but she only lives 10 miles a way. DC has THE WORST traffic in America. They did a survey and it was crowned #1. Also, like many of people have already pointed out..Its expensive as fukk up there. Its a $20,000 living cost difference between DC and Richmond. I told my boy who is a DC native that I got my 1200 sq/ft townhouse for $100K and he thought I was bullshytting. He legitimately thought I was lying because you can't even live in hood conditions for that low of money in DC. So when people are talking about making $80K while living in DC..you have to do the math and subtract the huge living cost. This is why I chose to stay my black ass in Richmond. I'll just go up there and visit when its something going.

Wherever you move, stay far away from I-66 as possible. Stay within the beltway. Preferably Falls Church or something. If you into sports, join one of them weekend warrior joints. I've came up on so much professional p*ssy playing coed football in Arlington or a kickball league on the Mall. I'm going to miss it when I leave. Move from DC to a country with an almost 40% HIV rate brehs. Pray for my dikk :to:

East Side!
It just took me 45 minutes to get from Virginia Square yesterday breh...thats a 30mn drive max

The 495 is complete shyt no matter what direction you're going. Have you ever tried to drive to and from Chantilly, VA at 5pm? The DMV has the worst traffic ever, but the 270 is probably the last highway I would rank.

You right, I drive at 6 am and get off at 3 so that's not typical 9-5 hours

Drive Down 295 and live in MD ... shyt thats what I'm going to do next year.

When that MGM opens in Nat'l Harbor, apply there for as a second job or even as Primary job. You will make bank.
I wish I could find the report I was reading one day but pay out there for the regular cat max out at about 50-55k and that's working F/T.

yes it is...while I lived there, Fairfax was the most expensive county in America.....loudon was in the top 10-15...anyway, while the cost of living is expensive, the jobs pay enough to sustain it...and there is a lot of shyt to do, no matter what you like to do....
