While I agree with you about the severity of drunk driving.
A person could get a DWI for sleeping in a parked car drunk with the key in it. A person could get a DWI for going out to a party, drinking and sleeping there and waking up at 9am to drive to work the next morning or drive home.
To say that these offenses should lead to someone never being able to drive again is extreme.
