Parents bought me a ps1 and a game... but no memory card. Didn't get one until 2 months later

Yeah that shyt fukked alot of kids up at the time.

I don't know how many times I created a player, started a season, played 2-3 games then had to do the same shyt the next day 
realistically tho it was a luxury early on
most folks i know still had the "so many lives, so many continues" mindset well after PS1 dropped

use to have to unplug the system from the tv (it might be fuzzy otherwise), but leave it running if someone else wanted to use the big tv and you were still playing. 
I got a ps1 and Resident Evil 2 for Christmas one year without a memory card. I had to beat the game without dying. I didn't even realize you got to play the game over with Claire or Leon until months later.

I can't begin to count how many J-rpgs I had to do that shyt with. FF7 and Star Ocean 2 prolly took me like 2 days with my Psx on and the fan on that shyts hoping nobody turn it off.

Well those were RPGs, so I wouldn't even attempt that shyt without a credit card, but I remember back when I used to buy those third party memory cards that had like 500 blocks compared to the usual 24 I think the offical ones had? Then the shyts would die on you and I'd be without a memory card for weeks/months since them shyts were marked up down here and I had to wait until Summer or Christmas.

never had a ps1 memory card. I had asked for a dreamcast memory card and got a ps2 memory card, which worked out i guess being that dreamcast went out of business shortly after. But i ain't get that vmu til like 06 or something. That shyt was weak.
I remember trying to play FFX without a memory card. Got like 10 hours in, died at a boss and had to start the game over.
