Sorry, i forgot this was the thread where people with no kids, tell people with kids, what its like to have kids. Please continue
Both of my exes have kids, I helped take care of my younger brothers when they were younger, and I babysit a variety of young cousins and my goddaughter on a regular basis.
Outside of anecdotal experience on my part, I have statistical evidence regarding the financial straits of parents, as well as practical knowledge.
I've spoken to Amy Chua (hilarious) before about the extremes of child-rearing, and considering Child Psych was the concentration in one of my original majors, I have a lot of research experience regarding child-rearing.
What part of what I said was in any way incorrect? I'll give more explanation or amend my statement if so.

Legacy =/= fame. When I say legacy, I mean when I am about to die, and look back at my life, I want to leave behind good, responsible human beings that I helped create.

The parents of Omar Mateen (Orlando Shooter) thought they raised a good, responsible human being...Legacy indeed!

but i want little kravens :mjcry:
If you honestly want kids, do it.
Ensure that before you do so, you have at least one savings account with a minimum of 10k in it, a minimum of two streams of income and two retirement accounts running (I'd recommend an IRA and a 401k), ensure you're married with someone who can help keep control of the situation together, have researched the nearby schools, crime rates of the area, and have a college fund ready to start. Health/dental insurance, life insurance, a home or spacious apartment, inspected for infestations, molds, and the like, check genetic history for hereditary diseases, and nearby childcare facilities. I'd always jump for a parenting class of some kind as well, there's always a few good tips in those. Make your gameplan, eliminate any prior debt, and go in with the mindset that you'll be going hard to balance children, work and hobbies for the next 18-22 years.

Lets start with all the parts where you assume X is going to happen. Having kids does not exclude you from doing anything you mentioned, and not having kids does not mean you will do everything you plan. Do you really think youre the only person who swore they wouldnt have kids, only to have them later on? and how am i being a crab because i know for a fact that having kids does not automatically limit your happiness or your goals in life.

I said this before and ill say it again, most people get tired of living life for only themselves. If thats not you cool, but i didnt make the thread so dont pretend like im the aggressor, im just here to give perspective

do you know any parents that can just get up when they want and travel the world?
kids does limit you, if you gotta pay for them when you could use that money and buy a house or a lambo

SOHH Class of 2006
1. not having to find a babysitter
2. your money is your money
3. not being tied to a baby mother for the rest of your life
4. not worrying about your seed growing up and tarnishing your legacy
5. not having to spend money on the kids education
6. travel the world when you want

brehs, the thought of having a child seems like hell, :sas1:
I so agree but I feel like this gonna upset rhe parents of the coli.

I love not having a wife or kid and just living life the way I want to now at 31.

:blessed:
