Not knowing where to go/what to do in a JRPG game unappreciation

shyt's so annoying.

I fired up SMT3 Nocturne to see what I was last doing(I haven't played it in months) and I'm literally puzzled as to what I'm supposed to be doing. The game doesn't have any log or sort of quest system to let you know where you're supposed to go/what you're supposed to be doing so I'm just randomly running around clueless.

This is one reason why it's not good to stop playing JRPG games like this. At least other JRPGS there are people and stuff you can talk to to find out what's going on.

yea, nocturne isn't the game to do that with. I did it on my first play through and just started over. I mean you can always look online if you want.

What always killed me was the randomness that would move the game along. Touching this door in a town you haven't been to in 15 hours or talking to some random npc behind a house and you cant even see them, they're just there. Yeah im talking about you FF3/6

Or sleeping in a free inn only to have nikkas rob you in your sleep .

Been playing the ffx remaster. Forgot all about these cloister of trials

Not really crazy difficult, it's just getting the secret rare drops from the hidden chests is puzzling af in later temples.

I looked online and I'm still a bit lost. shyt makes me not even want to play it anymore and it was pretty good. This is the one thing that Persona games imo do right. The calendar system makes it so that you can at least get an idea of what's going on since the game will move on(to a fail state possibly) if you take too long or w/e.
