The concepts are just thoughts, making them intangible, but the consequences of them are concrete.
-Prejudice will always exist as long as we look different (although they're just thoughts). That said, we have a human instinct to distinguish.
-Individuals will strive for power it in the real world.
Combine them both, and you have one race in power that will try it's best to prevent other races from being at it's same level in terms of wealth and infrastructure. It's the way the game goes. The consequence of that is: Morality is not necessary for the ruler, they're the creator of the law and morality.
That's why you have to sometimes ask yourself who are you really asking equal treatment from? Then you'll realize those who you're trying to convince to play fair are not listening or choose not to care. Again, there are empathetic individuals of every race, but in the grand scheme the majority won't give up their comfort to a bunch of strangers.
