This guy exited the elevator as I was going in. I said Good Morning. He didn’t say a word and walked by me.

That should be illegal. It’s common courtesy. This is like when you’re driving and you let another car pass you. If you don’t get that Thank You Wave, they should go to prison.

I know where you're coming from OP.

It's rude and makes people who were once kind and courteous now become more apathetic/antisocial towards people in general because it's a matter of “what's the point?” in being a good person if you're gonna get ignored.

It's like saying “thank you” to a cashier, somebody holding the door, or something and they don't bother saying “you're welcome” in return. It can definitely make a person's kindness and good deeds feel unappreciated and unnoticed.

I run into this everyday. I just make note and move on so that the people that don't return the greeting never get greeted again. Then I forget about it and them. In all fairness talking to me in the mornings on Monday specifically is literally a dice roll of whether violence will happen or not.......artifacts left over from military life.......cant say I wanna let that go though

and being fair. this is only when its super early. like 8:30am or earlier. You greet me around 9 or 10 and i will return the happy and radiant energy at that point.
Some people just gotta except that not everybody is a morning person. if it wasn't for the standardized work schedule you probably wouldn't even see us none morning people until we were ready for all that
