:dwillhuh:

I'm gonna need you to explain breh.

Skyler initially started bugging because she caught Walt in a gang of lies. So she bounced. Then came back and admitted he was selling dope, but acted like he was just a low level worker in the grand scheme of things.

shyt really went left after Hank/Walt were discussing Gale at the dinner table. Because she started to wonder if someone was gonna randomly kill Walt....who doubled down with the "I am the one who knocks" speech.

Then he blew up Gus.

I said the writers didn't write Skyler very well....and they didn't, because they wrote themselves into a corner having her find out he was selling drugs so early. So the rest of the series she's :ld: flip flopping between leaving or helping him. Which is not good for making a character sympathetic....but at the same time like I said, she was put into a fukked up, pretty much no-win situation.

Fred.

Skyler was the wife of an underachiever and defeated man. Her expectations and personality, her part of the marriage whole was shaped by interaction with this weak man. The Skyler at the beginning of the series was a personality that needed a weak Walt to exist. Once he has returned to himself (Grey Matter Walt) she pushes back, first to reclaim her dominance in the relationship then to seek a balance. Key word: Dominance.

Any threat to that dominance she will reject.

For instance, her flirtations with Ted occurred long before she even found out about Walt's dealings. It was triggered because she was losing her grip of him.

This is why I make the claim that things would not have been much different if Walt turned in "Heisenberg, the CEO of a Fortune 500 company".

Tony’s son was terrible. Just thinking about some of his storylines makes me hesitant to do a rewatch of the series.

Some of the stuff with her was bad. I don’t think the writers knew what they wanted to do with her character after the first season.

her character was probably one of the ones that was explored more due to Jimmy's death.

she was up and down, I didn't mind the storyline with her and son from DareDevil.
the problem with her was that it cut into what could have been scenes from Lucky Luciano or Meyer Lanksy who elevated the show when on screen.

Walt wasn't a weak or defeated man when she met him though. His personality in the flash back scene in the season 3 finale is the total opposite of what we see in the actual series.

And :dwillhuh: at "Skyler was flirting with Ted long before she knew about Walt's dealings". She didn't buy Walt's story about him disappearing. That was season 2, ep 2. She spent half the season thinking he was cheating because he kept disappearing.

She knocked over the pencils on her desk to get Ted's attention in ep 10. She sang Happy Birthday to him in ep 11. Her and Ted fukked in season 3, episode 3.

I don't want anyone to think I'm defending Skyler...I'm 100% not....and her fukking Ted was some hoe shyt....but they spread that shyt across 12+ episodes, after she caught Walt lying about a fukk ton of stuff. And admitting he was a drug dealer.

Fred.

Lucky, Meyer, Capone, etc. excelled because they weren't on screen as much as the main characters. Margaret, as well as Jimmy's wife, and Jimmy's mom were avenues to get some perspective of the times removed from merely the illegal side of things. Besides Capone's relationship with his son, and maybe Meyer's Jewish background, those compelling side characters didn't really have that much to them besides crime.

AJ Soprano might be one of the better representations of how the son of the antiheroes we tend to love would turn out. He's a fukk up, spoiled, and devoid of ambition. Tony's a horrible dad, even worse influence, and AJ spends his life trying to gain his approval. A lot of these Jersey Shore types are cut from the same cloth. Meadow actually has the balls to get out and do her own thing, while being To y Soprano's son is AJ's entire existence.

Carmela wasn't even the most annoying female character on the Sopranos. Not even top 2.

She absolutely was

Tony’s mother was miserable in a comedic way. Her flaws were obvious within an episode. She was meant to be “what you see is what you get”. The same could be said about Tony’s sister. If anything both of them start so low as far as what you expect from them that anything remotely positive associated with them is meant to be a surprise

Carmela on the other hand was a slow burn. Tony is out being a worthless thug and Carmela is supposed to be his redeeming quality. Yet the more the show goes on the more you realize how horrible she is.

She’s the broad that REALLY believes she’s better than the next person when she has nothing to show for herself.

She wants a house by the lake
She wants to be involved in real estate
She wants to donate money to Meadow’s school

What’s her means to do it? Her lifeline...Tony

The worst character I've seen in a while has to be that little b*stard Zach from the strain. I rooted for that little fukker to be killed each season after the first one because of the bullshyt and fukkery that existed in his wake.
literally just thought about him :mjlol: classic thread :dead:

first three comments from the end of the finale

As far as I'm concerned...the Strain was a series about nuking Zach.

Zac died. Finally

Honestly at this point I was more happy to see Zack die than the Master.
