Yes, I see it happen with my friend and family circle every day. Iām not opposed to the idea of having children, but I just enjoy my current lifestyle too much.
And Iām not trying to pass down this depression and anxiety

The same reason they try to idealize having kids.
They need to cope with an extremely hard decision (mostly in the form of an "accident") that they can't back out of and aren't allowed to say they want to back out of it even if they want to.
Most children don't even like their parents and, even if they do, most people are too selfish to properly care for their parents in old age.
Most parents will never see a return on their investment. The most they may get is warm and fuzzy feelings of pride coupled with constant anxiety.

Iām about to have a daughter in November Iām Nervous but excited as hell to see how a female version of me looks like and raise her on how to tackle the world. I get that not everyone should have kids but to me thatās the whole thing about life you are blessed to give another human being to make their mark in the world. Plus the older you get the more trash the dating market gets. Iāll be pushing 40 next year and Iām already hearing friends talk about how trash it is and how many baby mamas are out there from early to mid thirties and these are dudes who want kids of they own.

Being a parent is a thankless job with NO guarantees of anything. People always try to frame it as if the childless will have some kind of void or be lonely when old. You could invest so much into your kids and have them still be a failure, or still have them cut you off for whatever reason.
