I'm building my second venture now and have accepted that I need guidance with the trajectory of my company. I hate asking people for help but am also accepting that you need outside perspective to grow.

What strategies have y'all used to find business advisors/mentors (networking events, Linkedin, etc)? And how are you cultivating the relationship so that it's mutually beneficial?

I hate it whenever anyone says this stupid shyt. Its both. In order to be successful, you need both. You best to be the best at what you do and know a lot of influential people. Dont get it twisted. This is the way to go.

Agreed. However, there's plenty of people who hone they craft yet have limited access to influential people. This thread was posted to discuss how people in disenfranchised communities can network to get ahead.

See if you can find meet-ups, groups or professional organizations for the business that you're starting. This way you have access to multiple people and varying perspectives, but specific to the industry. Pay closer attention to people that have failed than the ones who have succeeded, you can learn what not to do or what to do better.

How are you willing to pay? If upfront, skillset will give you your answer in the shortest of time - you'll never find me marketing outside of automation marketing with emails etc. If not, you have to give them something beneficial to help you or you need to spend some serious time learning.

Where did you mess up in planning? That's what you need to look at and fix. This is where mentor/consultants are best for. Pay a fee here and there, get solid advice on what you need to do.

Plan is solid. Company is thriving and very profitable. However, I've never franchised before. Sure, I can do it on my own but it can be costly to learn and fail from that.

I could pay consultants but I'd rather have a team of advisors/mentors.
