I can't stand people that feel like they have to have a firm/strong opinion about absolutely everything. This resonates more in the sports world than anywhere else.
They'll catch a conversation on ESPN or sports radio and come in like they've got this FIRM opinion that can't EVER be changed. Even when they have NO IDEA WHAT THEY'RE TALKING ABOUT.
You can name ALL THE STATS and PROOF for why what they are saying is wrong. It's not only wrong, but it's something that anyone who actually pays attention to sports or the topic would never ever say.
In the business world, it sucks trying to talk sports sometimes. People hide behind blind loyalty, turn it into a question of that player/coach's character, or say something they think is slick like "I don't have the TIME to pay attention to all of it that closely" like I'm some fukking loser who has too much time on my hands. Why would I ever actually KNOW something to back up an opinion or conversation?

on average Id say casual sports fans are much worse in football....any kind of it. they always get the rules and penalties wrong, argue about it and launch into ridiculous kind of playcalling rants that make me wanna stab them in the eye with a fukking icepick

I remember having a converstation with my friends (who play bball for his community college team). He told me that Steve Kerr was better player than Kidd (before he won with the mavs) and AI because he's an NBA champion. He was like "if AI was better than Kerr, how come he doesn't have a ring?"
