Notorious BIG'S Born Again revisited

Good memories of 8th grade with this one. The time was Dre was out, Jay was out, Nas was out, and BIG was out, X was out. That's the best days of the game as far as childhood, buying albums like this back then meant everything. Like I was ecstatic to go and buy The Source or XXL and a new album.

Why didn't that Party And Bullshyt make the cut? That would have done crazy numbers in 1999. I randomly started rapping Puff's verse from Notorious in my head the other day

It's very representative of an era, some of it is fleshed out more, like Puff kinda being artistically stalled, and his label was shaky, so he was able to kind of go back in time with this one. Doesn't showcase Shyne at all, for obvious reasons. Mase was out.

I bought this album and was excited for it once Dead Wrong" dropped with the AL Green sample. I sat with it for a few days trying to like it, but that album sucked. And it ain't Big's fault, its just a bad album.

Theres a bunch of cool songs but the biggie vocals dont fit the beats really

Same! It's not on the level as his prehumous albums. I still have his first two albums in my regular rotation and only Dead Wrong & Who Shot Ya from Born Again.

One of the standouts for sure, the beat for Where The Party At is hella smooth

this was a party and bullshyt remix that was on the promo listed as "where the party at". it was also listed as party and bullshyt 2 in some places

The beats cool but Bigs verse sounded so dated at the time and Bustas is corny af, pretty rare I encounter a song where Eminem has the most tolerable verse
