Master Baker
Big was completely unneeded on this track...bizzy bodied it
Layzie took a nap, woke up, scribbled some shyt down, went in the booth and finished in one take
Bizzy and Krayzie laid down their verses quick too
Biggie watched them methodically work like "these nikkas ain't playin"
Told puffy "ay, lemme take this track to the crib"![]()
LOL that story about Puff paying Wish to go see the city instead of dropping a verse cause he thought he was wack to be on the song kills me.
But nah you're tripping.
Is this true?![]()
Stevie J said Layzie was drunk.![]()
D. Roc: That dude Layzie was passed out in the truck. Like they ordered a case of Hennessy, drinking it by themselves. He was drunker than everybody and everybody was like, “This nikka is gonna fukk up our whole night.” When it was his go, I went and tapped on the window. His face was on the glass—slobbing, knocked out. I tapped. He walked straight out the car, into the booth, did his verse in one take and went straight back into the joint and passed out again.
Crazy that the second BIG verse on Victory and arguably the best first he ever spit, a top 5 rap verse of all time, was a fukking reference verse for fukking Puff Daddy so he would know how to flow over the beat on the final version. It was a ghost written throw away. Big was in his prime.![]()
"im the witty one, Frank's the crook from the Brook"...
makes sense![]()
