Yes for a family of 4 and plus you weren't even guaranteed a seat on the plane. Only way to get a guaranteed seat was to pay for first class tickets which was almost 10k a ticket. Normally during the off season in Australia you get tickets around 500-800 bucks. Australia back then had a quota on how many people could return a week. Each State had a different quota as well. My flight with the flight crew and other passengers was a total of 18 people on it.
