Maybe. But I used to work with a Serbian dude who got drunk one time at a staff party and started bawling and calling himself a coward cuz at nine years old his whole family was slaughtered in his house and he only survived by hiding under a bed.

He’s right though. To be at the top of anything is a lot of pressure. Most cant handle it and that’s why they don’t have long runs at the top.

However, that doesn’t mean we have to treat people who ain’t built die the pressure like shyt. Just acknowledge it and move on to the next who can handle the weight of expectations.

The hell this got to do with social justice warriors?:gucci:

I fukking hate that term, white people bs is all it is.

The protection of Athletes who can't deal with pressure. It's annoying and disrespectful to the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s players who had to deal with real pressure and landmark events

This modern hashtag era makes a mockery of "pressure"

This.

Getting to the top sometimes is the easiest part, staying there is what's tough as hell.

If you grow up in a war torn region, the word pressure has a different meaning.
First he didn't grow up in a warn torn region. His country was genociding people for years and the moment they got hit with airstrikes, for refusing to stop committing war crimes, they turned it into a sob story.

Second he already had multiple meltdowns in his career. From faking injuries early in his career when losing matches, to hitting a linesperson in the throat with a ball to going on a major two-year slump where he almost quit. He found some charlatan healer from Spain to solve his problems and kept changing his coaches.

So he shouldn't be the one speaking on someone elses ability to handle pressure :stopitslime:

Pressure is relative.

Everybody goes through their own shyt and deals with it differently. Given the constant ridicule and judgement of today's athletes from everyone that has internet access, which is over half the world's population, how could you possibly say it's disrespectful to past athletes, that athletes now are protected? I mean, how much protection do athletes truly get in relation to the jeering they receive?

He was asked about pressure. He didn't take a shot at Biles or mention her name. He's talking about how he perceives and deals with pressure.
Yeah, I just shytted on him but apparently his answer had nothing to do with her.

Above the fray.

Well, if he was only the second player to come on the cusp of winning a Golden Slam, then the facts point to him being an elite player, and having a historic run.
Neither are possible for players who can't deal with pressure. Otherwise that Golden Slam list would have more than one name on it.

The average sports fan would concede that.

2) Your first sentence says that he is not from a war torn region. Then you mention how the (modern day)country he was from received air strikes.

I'll fall back from discussing this, as I do whenever conflicts/wars and deaths are discussed. But with all due respect, don't direct misguided anger at people who did nothing to you.

A big component here, is that he learned how to deal with this pressure. Every generation has a different environment and influence that molds their behaviors and coping skills.

A broad stroke can't encapsulate my image in your painting.
