Jackie Robinson was actually a really good player who had good defense, had a relatively high batting average(lifetime average of .311), had decent pop(got a lot of doubles) and a good on base percentage. Also in the off season he would fukk up white people that said racist shyt to him and his wife. And he won an MVP in 1949 so he literally was the best player in the league that year.

So we gonna pretend Steve Nash didn't win an MVP award?

Although I personally don't think he deserved an MVP(or 2) Steve Nash was an excellent playmaker. He was probably top 5 or 10 concerning at least one thing which makes him a bad example for whatever you're trying to prove here.

K.Dot is more lyrical/better than most these dudes tho :dahell:

He's not nicer than Vince at all ...they are about neck and neck

Not really. Kendrick's only power is the push he receives.
He can drop a shytty song that doesnt resonate with the people but his team will still get him on award shows to perform it.

Kendrick was the only rapper to perform,

It creates the illusion that he's a big deal, despite most signs showing he's not a big deal at all.
You go to youtube and his song will have very limited views vs other competition ,yet it will be touted as a big deal

  • He outsold Fetty/Sean
  • Got the most album nominations
  • BLM protests had "Alright" and it resonated with "no-one"
  • Album had huge critical acclaim

but let you tell it.... Fetty/Sean/ilovemakkonen should have been on stage :pachaha:

Dudes really be trying too hard :snoop:

Kendrick hasn't dropped anything in the last 6 months but yet people are steady trying to discredit him

I never remember Kendrick or anybody saying he was super lyrical or anything. Maybe it just seems like it in rap's current climate....

He takes his time and puts out good whole projects, period....

Y'all really out here comparing him to Jackie Robinson :pachaha: on some "now I understand Kendrick's purpose in rap game"

It ain't that deep fam :heh:

THIS. I can't remember which interview it was but around the time TPAB came out Kendrick himself said that he considered himself more of a storyteller than a lyricist. And I can see where he's coming from.

I know what you mean... :ehh:

not saying Kendrick is mediocre (Kendrick stans :whoa:) but he ain't the lyrical heavyweight you'd think nikkas claimed him to be.

Lupe in his day wasn't too far off from Kendrick tier stardom, but the more abstract & artsy fartsy your music gets, the more you sacrifice that commercial flare. Kendrick has sorta experienced this with TPAB.
Kendrick knows this. Which is why his next album will be like gkmc with a different accessible sound while still maintaining quality. He is at interscope so

I don't understand the Kendrick hate. Why do people go through so much detail and thought about why someone is wack? If you don't like them keep it moving, you don't need to post up about how much you dislike them.

Kendrick is relevant because he is making good music to the mainstream whilst rapping about real topics.

BLM is ran by gays and was funded by a CAC. It's just controlled opposition
Critical acclaim from cac media means nothing
Nominations from cac awards (which all of them are) means nothing

I know how well he "sold" albums
but for some reason his other numbers on't echo the same sentiments
The singles on the so called high selling album, never seem to match the albums success.
he cant tour like the nikkas whom have done similar numbers to him in this era.

When you introduce a new era, you need a mediocre talent to set the stage, to usher it in

Kendrick is like the Jackie Robinson in the Major leagues. We knew he wasn't the best, but he's the reason black people are in the league now. He's easily digestible to the public, and especially to suburban cacs

Before Kendrick, lyricism was at the basement as far as commercial Hip Hop. Soulja Boy, Laffy Taffy, Ying Yang Twins, Jim Jones, etc etc :francis:. The bar was so low with lyricism, when Kendrick came around, he was thought of as the 2nd coming. He introduced bars to a new generation

Then after him, he opened doors for more talented Lyrical rappers to be heavily exposed to the commercial side of the game. Big companies realized again that you can put money into this type of music

Kendrick reminds me alot of this nikka

Now cause of Kendrick we got lyrical rappers getting shine. Like SchoolBoy Q, Freddie Gibbs, Lupe, King Los, LeCrae, Dave East, Game, Big Krit, Vince Staples, Meek Mill Earl the Sweatshirt, Nipsey Hussle, etc etc :blessed:

Thanks Kwame Jr :mjcry:

schoolboy q?! meek mill?! gtfoh
