I took a jog for the first time in years and that shyt HURT. My shins, ankles and joints were immediately not feeling it. Probably made it about 3/4ths of a mile before I started walking lol. Any seasoned joggers have any tips for a beginner? Now I feel challenged and want to defeat my hate of jogging.

Breh, can relate....

Started up sometime ago and was definitely ready to throw in the towel but had to motivate myself to push through.

I find the music I listen to helps.

Prolly gotta get some new kicks though. Currently, rocking these. Very lightweight.

Also, I run with 5 lb weight in my hands. Arms get a workout too.

I'm interested to learn other tips as well.:feedme:

Shoes matter, but making these few slight changes in your actual running form itself will have even more of an immediate effect.

Run with your shoulders relaxed and laid back, and hips thrusting forwards. You should run as if you’re leading with your hips.

And that’s it. Just that simple. Because it aligns your footfalls in a straighter path with your spine, your shin pain back pain and all other pains will immediately cease.

You will develop that funny tight-Booty looking stride that white people have when they walk/run, but you’ll notice that you’ll also feel so much more relieved, and you’ll be able to continue on with your run.

Only tip I got is to control your breathing. I was able to run a lot more once I started controlling my breath.

I like in through my nose out through my mouth. I’ve read you have to do it the opposite but I’m most comfortable doing it that way and it works.
