there is definitely something about people playing the instruments that adds to the emotional impact. you can feel the effort and skill involved in them playing. and you can hear the difference in how each person plays. plus theres something about a great singing voice that just cant be matched. great singing voices have been overlooked for image these days.

Real instruments on the tracks create a timeless sound that cannot be recreated.

Throw in other instruments with that and two great voices and you get timeless stuff.

I stumbled upon this clip on Youtube:

That song is simply perfection. Unlike today, everybody who played a role in its creation is within 10 feet of one another in the studio!

It makes for a very unique, cohesive sound.

James Jamerson's bass lines were nothing short of genius.

Look at this:

No autotune. Just a breh singing his heart out on the mic.

Ruffin was a special singer.

You see that documentary about the Funk Brothers ?:wow:. His daughter said they were out eating breakfast and My Girl came on over the speakers. He told the waitress "That's me on the opening notes :jawalrus:." She shot him the :usure:. That's how unsung those cats were. He used to play lying on his back :wow:.
