Maybe an unpopular opinion but all Hip Hop biopics tend to be corny. Notorious was a joke. This was a joke. Get Rich or Die Trying was pathetic. Thank God they ain't give 2pac a shameless go around. Even 8 Mile was insanely overrated.
I'd love to see a "Ray" or "A Complete Unknown" level Hip Hop biopic but it seems like every time one is attempted a bunch of people that dont wanna look bad get involved and turns what could've been a true, deep character study into a lousy Hallmark Channel-level obituary.
Everytime you see a hip hop biopic you can just tell the entire corny ass families and living personalities surrounding the story gets involved and compromise the shyt into a joke trying to make everyone look more heroic, deep and noble than they actually were.

First half was a good watch, 2nd half was made up bullshyt.
It was definitely an "act 1 was better than act 2" movie. Second half had a real hip hop head rolling his eyes all the way through.

Almost as bad as the Notorious movie. Voletta had the script writers portraying Biggie as the pope
Exactly what I mean. Mama was all up in that script making sure precious baby looked like a forgotten saint and misunderstood family man.
Ruined what should've been a far deeper coming of age story.

I take the NWA for what it is… a movie. It was a decent watch. Is there a good rapper biopic out there? Biggie’s was ass and I damn sure don’t want to talk about Pac’s
Hell, Hammer had a made for tv biopic and it might not be worse than the major studio releases
