prolly gonna end up listening to ron G tapes all damn day now.

Ron G is clearly the GOAT mixtape/blend DJ. every NYC dj after him jacked elements of Ron G. from the laugh, to being annoying as fukk, talkin over tracks :russ:

It's sh*t like this tape that still makes me love blendin'... your casual fans don't appreciate it much these days, but all the older heads know :myman:

This tape is :lawd: The Michael Jackson 'Almost There' and the Substitution beat = crazy, Human Nature and South Bronx, Guy 'Do Me Right' with 'Suicide', Ralph Tresvant with Just To Get A Rep... this nikka was on a ROLL.

:whew: I remember Marley Marl use to blend portions of that Almost There track on WBLS...with Mr Magic

But RON G blacked out on that

And yeah SUBSTITUTION is like the ultimate breakbeat for blending and freestyling

Just like Impeach the President

If these tapes got remastered by Ron g and he was selling them I would GLADLY PAY TOP DOLLAR foe them !!!

Peace @The HONORABLE SKJ for this one bruh. This takes me back to the Jeep Wrangler/AC Legend era. I was only a young pup still in high school. But I was making moves and I'll leave it at that :lolbron: But anyway, around 93/94ish I had gotten my first whip. And I was cultivating my R&B playlist for the whip. Also around this time, I had actually started dating the woman who is now my wife today but I was still working with a stable then :shaq: So my first R&B rotation for the car were Babyface "For The Cool In You", R. Kelly "12 Play", and Toni Braxton's first album. But my ace in a hole were always Ron G tapes! There was no better feeling then being 17, riding around with the wood frame, round lense cartiers on, coogi cardigan down with a pretty young thing in the passenger seat, getting her open to the latest Ron G blend tapes. :takedat::banderas:Blends are such a lost art. Having smooth R&B vocals over rugged Hip Hop beats or old breaks provided the perfect balance for both male and females to enjoy without it being compromised or watered down.
