yo back in the day i used to build with him and fat joe,,good guys.

true indeed Tua...Ron G. was down with the Nation of Islam.......back then it was common to take Farrakhan speeches and blend them over beats..

I did it one time with Farrakhan going over eric b. and rakim's the Ghetto original version.....

Not surprised Fat Joe was enlightened as well..him and the beatnuts use to build with a lot of power rules (Puerto Ricans) at a spot called Godsville in the BX

:mjcry: a dj doing shyt like this is soo rare. and if you do this in the wrong setting now, you might lose the crowd, since all the wanna hear are radio cuts

YEAH exactly.......hoes fukked the game up they didn't wanna hear any blending and scratching or brand new tracks..they just wanted repetitious shyt to hear on the dancefloor

I stopped managing deejays cause the crowd didn't appreciate shyt like this......"its too slow"...."I wanna get turned up"..... smh

now any muthaphuka with a Acer Laptop and mp3 playlist can call himself a deejay now in the clubs and the mixtape scene

im sooooooooooo glad to be a FLABBY OLD AND SICK DUDE..... now i realize I had a great childhood ..thank u hip hop :blessed:

fat joe and many of ricans were dealing with knowledge of self due to some known latinos in the NGE.
Fat Joe was quite vocal with the lyrics concerning 5%..
props for the info God.

there's magic in this artform, man. There's nothing like riding or chilling or doing whatever and being hit with some odd ass blend you never even imagined. :mjcry:

exactly dude....RON G. made me appreciate R&B....back then in the late 80s and 90s I was a straight up hardcore b-boy.....I only fukked with rap till I got into dancehall reggae

but RON G. had this way of making the most sappiest..softest ballad seem sooooooooooo DOPE :damn:

I wanted to post up my fav Ron G. tape MIXES 7....But hoe azz WARNER BROS/ CHAPPELL publishing blocked that AUDIO of it on youtube......copyright shyt....smh

anyway he had this blend of a PEBBLES /JOHNNY GILL song called "ALWAYS" going over a breakbeat he created..and being I was a deejay myself I was in fukking awe

I remember raking my mother's lawn in Georgia and just stopping abrubtly to listen to the boombox and my reaction was and still is:

omg.gif

he totally reconstructed this song:

ron G was doing some shyt!

exactly that's why RON G. was featured on the intro to one of MARY J BLIGE'S ALBUM when puff executive produced it...simply cause PUFF stole ron g style

same with Jermaine Dupri he constantly had RON G. around him...sad cause RON G. never really got credited for the influence he had over these mainstream producers
