I haven’t watched a Jurassic Park movie since III. I’m honestly surprised they’re still making them kinda like all those Transformers sequels. Seems like there’s nothing else to really do in terms of story about the dinosaurs on some island somewhere.

I might check for this when it’s on streaming.

In jurassic world, they able to open a amusement park for customers and the shyt went left

In Fallen kingdom, they made a conservatory for endangered dinosaurs and the shyt went left

In dominion, with dinosaurs running wild out chea, a much larger conservatory was created in Europe (with a black market in Malta) and the shyt went left.

I mean they still haven’t learned that if they make these Dino parks something is gonna go wrong.

Agree with these takes.

What happened with Thunderbolts at the BO was disheartening. I get why most folks wouldn’t want to show up for another ragtag misfits team-up, but that was a good ass movie. Tough.

Looks like Gunn delivered with Supes though, not that I ever doubted, so it’s up to the rest of the folks to show out for it now. Not getting into the numbers game but I think it’ll do really good. The critical/audience reception alone right now is a major dub for DC Studios.

I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
Now velociraptor fans know what us T-Rex fans felt like during Jurassic Park 3. Doesn’t feel good to see your favorite Dino job to the new baddie, does it? :umad:

At the least the T-Rex in JP3 didn’t get killed like a scrub - out of frame in the background while someone was taking a piss in the foreground.

BTW - this movie was :trash: . I would say this needs to be it, but looking at the box office receipts another sequel will be around the corner in about 3 or 4 years - give or take.

Jurassic world was a good take on it though and definitely worth watching.

I don’t wanna hear another mothafukkin’ thing about a SKRULL after Secret Invasion. :camby:
buoyed by strong word-of-mouth and reviews, it declined a less-than-expected 54 percent to $57.2 million for a pleasing 10-day domestic tally of $235 million through Sunday. That’s a narrow decline for the struggling superhero genre. Overseas — where Superman the character has always faced challenges because of its pro-American themes — the film earned another $45.2 million for an internationally tally of $171.8 million and $406.8 globally in a major win for DC and Warners, which has passed up Disney to rank No. 1 in domestic marketshare for the year to date.

@Bryan Danielson @AnonymityX1000 @Peter Popoff read it and weep fellows

Weekend Box Office Results: It's a Bird. It's a Plane. With $58.4M - SUPES Still the Mane (Jul. 18-20)

Superman kicked off the DCEU last weekend and became one of only 3 movies to post a $100M opening this year with $125M. The not Man of Steel came through with a $58.4M second weekend. That's $3.6M less than the $62M second weekend of James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. And Guardians 3 actually opened lower - $118.4M - than Superman. :lolbron:

However, Superman has held up better throughout its first week, and totals $236.2M through 10 days - $21.5 / 10% ahead of Guardians 3's $214.7M. And it's $26.2M / 12.5% ahead of Man of Steel's $210M 10-day total. Of course, Man of Steel opened the DCEU in 2013 and that $210M translates to $290M in today's dollars.

And Man of Steel had stronger competition in its second weekend, going up against the opening weekends of Monsters University ($82.4) and World War Z ($66.4M). Superman also faced a couple of new movies in I Know What You Did Last Summer and Smurfs, whose combined $23.8M was only $125M less than Monsters University and World War Z's $148.8M. So WB was smart with the release date. :ehh:

Notables

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning fell out of the top ten for the first time with $860K from 705 theaters. It's total is now $195.8M. That passes Rogue Nation's $195M and is the fourth highest total in the franchise. But $200M does not look like it's in the cards.

With $500K, M3GAN 2.0 fell out of the top ten in only its fourth weekend. It's already streaming on-demand.

Eddington opened in 7th place with only $4.2M. This comes from Ari Aster, who had to be one of, if not the, most overrated directors / "auteurs" today. He hasn't made a movie I've liked yet. And each of his now 4 movies has made less than the last one. But at least it gives Pedro Pascal another movie on the big screen.

Materials made $357K, bringing its total to $36M. Unlike Eddington, this is a much needed win for A24. And if it's still in theaters next weekend (it played in 271 this weekend) it'll give Pedro Pascal 3 movies playing in theaters at the same time, with the release of Fantastic Four.
