i think you're getting confused.

what i'm trying to say is that the united states basically was supporting and aiding mr. escobar and his drug trafficking operations as well as other folks. the point i was making and connecting with the original poster that i quoted is that america basically knows what's going on, they'll let these folks do what they do, even go about aiding them and putting them in power like how the cia did with the taliban as long as they do what they say or do what they agreed upon. next thing you know, whoever they were aiding doesn't feel like answering them anymore or things go sour, they do whatever and then america pretends as if it didn't have shyt to do with it or like so and so is the enemy. i think the same could be said about all those major narcotic traffickers. that's why the whole entire "drug war" shyt is really the government against the people. they know who's bringing what in, who's running what, and etc. the government is literally sanctioning the distribution of drugs by basically controlling the shyt, giving power to drug lords, organizations and the whole nine. then they are turning around trying to make a business off of making it illegal. the government is making a killing off of that shyt. if the drug business went down, all the cartels, drug traffickers and etc got shut down, the government will go down with it too. the government basically is being controlled by these folks. there will always be a source of drug flow coming into this country. even if you shut down all the borders and secure them, drugs will still pop up. it's a beneficial relationship.
