Just missed out on Freaknik. It still existed when I got to college (1997) but was trash by then.

Daytona was fun, and I did some wild sh*t in the streets (fingering, sucking t*ts) but nothing too crazy. Still was a blast, tho. I made a tape but threw it in the bushes a few years later.

@JamilALAmin Were you out there then? Bless us with a story big dawg :lupe:

Nah. Was old enough to know it was going down but too young to get out there. I think I told this before I on here but I remember riding with ma dukes somewhere and we got caught in one of them traffic jams and she made me get in the back seat and lay down and cover my eyes. She pretty open and up front with shyt. She would had to have seen some grade A fuccery to make me do that

From what I've heard about it, it was just the hood let out onto the streets with minimal supervision.
Nothing but "ratchetness," in its most potent form, and open-drug use/drinking.
If you like house parties in dirty areas of the city, you'd have loved Freaknik.
Otherwise :yeshrug:

Coli: I wouldn't go to an ATL orgy :scust:

Coli: Freaknik :blessed:

Different city back then. That gay stuff didn't get like that until people started moving here after the Olympics. Folks always came down here but after 96 shyt exploded. Atlanta in the early 90's was totally different. Morehouse had some questionable shyt going on and in a way the same way the AUC as a whole was a catalyst for Freaknik to jump off at first you could probably say the same for Morehouse and the gay community here too

Wasn't it at all. It started out as a college thing. It just grew. If you've ever been to a big ass block party you have an idea. It's just that it encompassed the entire city. Every restaurant every club every mall every parking lot was packed. People just chillin. It wasn't like it was wildin going on everywhere you looked. It was just people walking around drinking and smoking and kicking it.

Traffic was bumper to bumper so nikkas had to sit behind with the car in shifts lol. Couple nikkas stay behind while the rest of us walk around.

The tightest thing was that it was nikkas from all over the country and everyone was cool. Like I said the trouble didn't really start until after 94.

I only saw one incident at Piedmont Park where a crowd of dudes started going a little too far with a female, but a couple of shots up in the air cleared the crowd and they got her up outta there.

Other than that it was lovely and we were all through Atlanta. Decatur, the SWATS, all that shyt.

Maybe the person I was talking to was more condemnation minded than anything else.
Block parties for me in general are :scust:
But the fukkery was probably contained to specific areas.

Nah you couldn't get me to go to some shyt like that today. No way no how. But when I was growing up you could still go to shyt like that and it was relatively safe. Now I'm not saying there wasn't plenty of guns on dashboards and shyt like that but nikkas weren't trippin. Just like some hoes got extra loose but most did what alotta young college girls do when they go outta town. It was just mostly done behind closed doors and we didn't have cameras on our phones and shyt.

It was some real cool shyt pre-95. I really feel kinda bad for you dudes who'll never experience shyt like that. HBCU kinda shyt.
