Gotta disagree with you breh. He’s had minutes jerked around slightly, but he’s played a ton recently.
The concerning thing is MPJ doesn’t really do anything on offense with the ball in his hands besides jack up contested shots. They go in a lot but he has no bag. We thought he could be a KD type player, but he’s only beaten like 2 dudes off the dribble all season. They’ve tried to work him into the dribble handoff game but all he can do at this point is come off it and shoot a midrange j. He’s got a lot of work to do on his game to justify the thought of him being held back. If he didn’t have Jokic creating for him, he’d be looking awful this year.
he is playing a ton recently because of the injuries if dozier, milsap, and green were health his minutes would be closer to the nineteen he played against Atlanta.
the offensive stuff I disagree with, most of the time mpj forces shots because he is trying to force his way into the offense because they don’t run any plays for him. MPJ has a middling first step so he isn’t going to blow past many people but he has shown to have a competent back to the basket post game when he is allowed to use it. He also needs to add head fakes and jab steps to his game in order to create more space but anytime he does anything out of the norm the entire team gives him the

stifling his ability to work on and develop those aspects of his game. Honestly, everyone looks terrible if Jokic doesn’t create for them and that includes Murray half the time, he has turned it up recently but there has been way to many games this season where he had been bad. I also think the over reliance on Jokic to create the offense is a weakness that Malone will never grapple with because it means he will have to actually develop an offensive system.
I think giving the right coach MPJ offensively is closer to Danny Granger than KD. I think we will see the best of MPJ on a different team because Malone doesn’t value MPJ.
