There is no :patrice: about it. Drake's music excites hip hop fans more than Kendrick's and J Cole's. FACTS.

Coli's already heard the album and given their rambling 2c on it. Artistically, y'all can't wait to find out what he does next, especially for the haters. He got the Coli on his diznick
i'll stick with :patrice:and add :what:

you act like hip hop fans are not excited whenever a big name drops. this ain't exclusive to drake.
when cole dropped his last project, it was huge. and so was k.dot's album.
what i'll give you is that drake is more popular and that is it.
:skip:drake making a more artistic album than kendrick!!

as far as the coli goes, drake ain't the only one hated/stanned on here,so miss me with that!!
i've seen your countless threads on kendrick
(an artist that you apparently don't value, but still went out of your way to find out what his album sounded like just to bytch and moan about it)

mixed reaction from fans and haters (some of his fans not feeling this was a surprise)
mixed reaction from critics will follow(nothing new about this. drake makes safe music.his music will never be loved universally.fact)

But let's not act like literally EVERYBODY hasn't been talking about and listening to Drake this week. I literally don't know a person who listens to black music who hasn't checked out the album.
I haven't gotten around to it yet.

His ALBUM was purchased on ITUNES. So the ALBUM

for how much?

edit: I looked up the prices.
this chit is dirt cheap and theres not another big-name release in sight.
I'm not impressed.

Grow the fukk up u weirdo

Em has a place amongst the greats but he shouldn't be one of the two or three faces of the genre when we look back at it in 20-30 years, due to skills and color. He's not one of the founders, and he doesn't belong there before Nas Jay Big and Pac to name just the most obvious selections, but at this rate it's very possible Drake and Em end up being the faces of a genre and culture that they really did nothing for.

Em made great music and helped show that a white boy can do it as nice as anyone, which helped open up the culture but that's not significant enough to overshadow the previously mentioned greats and the real pioneers. Really The Beastie Boys might have a more legitimate claim to the token white slot on Hip-Hop's Rushmore.

It'll be a travesty if Em and Drake end up collectively being the Elvis of rap, and stealing the shine from the artists that really paved the way artistically and commercially.

EDIT: I also really hope you're trolling with the bolded statement. That's actually part of what makes people hate whites, "infiltrating" other cultures can be interpreted in many ways. Was it great when white Europeans infiltrated Native American cultures by either killing them or forcing them to assimilate to the European way of life?

I think every culture, mainly artistic expression is open to everyone, a white Frenchman was the first to make motion pictures, and the whites/The French don't claim ownership to it or that other races can't do it, but we also live in a white supremacist system that shows clear preference for whites in just about every avenue in society, so I can understand why blacks are so adamant about not having rap/hip-hop as a culture highjacked from them.

If there was more equality, both racially and economically, it wouldn't be as big of a deal because blacks and people of all races would receive the proper credit for their accomplishments and equal opportunities to accomplish more both individually and collectively. If we ever see that day, stuff like this won't be a hot button issue, but it's going to take shyt like this being addressed before we can arrive at the day when it's no longer an issue.

Also, HUGE difference between self-hatred and self-awareness/knowledge of self.

How does 600,000 in one day lead to just 850,000 in a full week?

because its not like you have to leave your house.
youre really not spending any money either.

if youre checking for dude, theres no reason to put it off for a week unless youre fasting or extremely broke.

The incredible thing about that LP was that it did another 800K on week 2.

That shyt was a fukking epic moment. EVERYONE was on it.
50 was so big i remember his run vividly and i was in fukking elementary school when GRODT dropped
my mom copped the album and i would be begging her to play that CD everyday on the way to school
