Just watched

Was a big fan of the tv movie with bryan cox

And thought crowe would be a perfect goering.

And he is.

Some spoilers below but its history yall should know

Rami malek is kinda trash in this. Overacting. Comes off super unnatural during scenes with crowe. However, maybe that was the point because crowe nails the charisma/act that made goering so dangerous/compelling. Ramis character is just arrogant and unlikable. Talking about wanting to “prevent atrocities forever” aka write a book and get rich. Then when given the chance to railroad the nazis plays all high and mighty.

Im almost confused with what they are trying to get over here. Shows the americans lied, fukked up executions , broke law, blackmailed the pope lol, just wanted to shoot them no trial, etc. they come off as the nazis here, which ive never seen before.

goering makes a remark saying “will you even admit i was human”. Wasnt quite humanizing, but i guess it was all to say anyone could become a nazi and the allies were no different. They spoon feed it all movie only for the last scene rami maleks character critiques america and proves goering right.

Kind of weird movie during these times with israel / nazi correlation. Wasnt expecting this from hollywood. Worth a watch for crowe alone.

Edit: i see i wasnt the only one who thought rami was bad in this. I felt like i was watching a 2020 guy playing a barely coherent 1945.
