I volunteered at a nursing home, it was gross pervy old white men trying to get you to have sex with them.

Nursing homes are hell. I had a great uncle there (he had advantaged dementia and a whole lot of issues) and omg at how the elderly are treated. It's like the nurses don't care about them. We used to go everyday and most of the time my family spent arguing with how my great uncle was treated and essentially had to pick up the slack. It was horrible. They would misplace or lose his clothes, dentures, and other belongings. And most of the other patients rarely got visits, which means no one there to make sure they are being treated with respect and dignity. My family ended up moving my great uncle to about three nursing homes. One was mid tier and the other two were expensive and it was still the same thing. Smh

One of the nursing homes was shutdown and had many lawsuits for how they were negligent with the patients and the amount of abuse.

More than likely their children put them in there. Bruh how could you look your mama or dad in the eye and throw them into somebody else's care and only go see them like once a month? That's some pure heartless shiit.

My ex used to work at a home and every time I went up there, it was full of a bunch of miserable looking cacs just waiting to die.
I mean part of me doesn't give a shiit because they probably deserve it, but just the thought of throwing my parents in there is sickening.

Gotta take care of the folks until they go.

What you gonna' do for her while you are away at work? Leave her to lay in bed and develop bed sores?

If not then you gonna' pay home health aides and nurses and therapists? If so with what money?

What about when you leave the house and come home to find your mother who has dementia trying to find her mother in the street?

These nikkas have no idea... Kept my grandmother at home on hospice until she passed for 18 months..... They have no idea on not just the physical aspect of caring for someone that can't walk or wipe their ass, but the emotional toll it takes on you seeing something you love more than anything in the world, slowly decline and go thru his or her mental/emotional anguish of losing their independence.... A once warrior who is now more feeble than a 2 year old..

My old earth made me promise that we wouldn't put her in a home.... and we didn't...... Had nothing to do with money either...

Maybe you should go to a nursing home in a black area. I've been to both. In the white areas, there are mostly white old people. In the black areas, there are mostly black old people. More diverse areas usually have more white people.

Another thing is, lots of older black people are strong enough to do for themselves and don't need to be taken care of. Genetics. It can be expensive as well, and there are more white people who can afford it.
