This should definitely not be on this list
:francis:
Yeah that was crazy weird. Like "one of these things is not like the others":pachaha:

The odd thing is that there's no reason for theology school to be expensive. With the exception of law, all those other disciplines are clinical meaning you can justify charging students 75k per year tuition, because of all the expensive medication or technology or high paid professors. None of this affects pastors at all :russ:

My guess is some of the conservative lobbyists tried to pigeonhole their own religious institutions in there like Temple or Pensacola College

Nurses, school teachers, doctos, cops(in a non racist country), firemen should get all the fukking money, hell garbage workers should get more than what they get.

Its crazy how the jobs that actually allow society to function are considered lesser than some dude putting figures in a spreadsheet so a group of billionaires can decide which company is gonna make them the most money that they are never gonna spend.

I heard a stat that like 80% of nurses were white women.
The distinction in nursing is that it's one of the few good paying fields where black women almost exactly match their representation nationally. Black women are 6% of the population and 6% of nurses.

This is unheard of in any industry which pays a middle class salary

The real shocker to me is why Hispanics haven't picked up nursing. And they are the reason that the white women numbers are so high. For once, this is a field where black women aren't being suppressed.

black women will most likely be using financial aid more, and will be worse affected by this policy .

This makes no sense. No way nurses don’t protest.

  • White: Approximately 67% to 77%
  • Black/African American: Around 8% to 11%
  • Asian: Approximately 9% to 11%
  • Hispanic/Latino: Around 8% to 9%
  • Other: Pacific Islander, American Indian/Alaska Native, or multiple races make up the remaining percentage
Went to get a endoscopy done the other day and every nurse in the facility was white. About 30 of them. This will affect too many white women. Even though they want them back home breeding.

This will create a shortage in nurses. Nurses are in demand across the world.

Nurses will just move to other countries for better pay & opportunities

Actually very very very very impossible.
The nurses get paid a lot because they're needed and there is a shortage. All this will do is squeeze the supply of nurses further because nurses can't get the funding from financial aid to complete their education. There is an inelastic demand for nurses Because nursing is not easy work and the hospital collapses without them.

the professional distinction is only necessary because of the new financial aid cuts limiting the amount of borrowing you can do. This is significant because clinical degrees require a crap ton of money to run teaching hospitals.

So to counter to your point, Being a professional degree or not being a professional degree doesn't eliminate the fact that a level 1 trauma center needs 500 nurses. That's nonon-negotiable. And they can't afford to pay them less because they simply won't show up. They have travel contracts available to them to go to better markets.

It's so bad that
in order to incentivize nurses to do the job and make up shifts for their missing peers ; the nurses get generous incentives. To give you an example of what I mean, most major hospital systems have a system in place where if a nurse works a double he/her base salary is multiplied several times over . And this is pre pre-overtime. Now add in the overtime because the existing nurses must do more work and you'll see how horrible this is for the healthcare system.

In many states it's not uncommon for nurses to actually be out earning MDs in internal medicine or pediatrics or psychiatry because of these incentives. For example the highest paid public employees in California and New York for multiple years running are nurses . It is not uncommon to see nurses both bedside bs degreed nurses and advanced practice nurses MSN or DNP to be bringing in 300k or more in the coastal regions. 2 years ago a few were making 400k and out earning whole surgeons in new York because they were willing to come and do shifts others wouldn't do.

So all of these are the reasons why the pay won't go down . Furthermore the nurse unions and bargaining power has never been better because the current system is horribly tilted in favor of their lobbying groups.
Time to become a Nurse, gender roles be damned. :sadcam:
