It's the equivalent of finishing your vegetables before dessert. I get why they're doing it though - the more big names they have, the bigger venues they can fill.

At the moment NXT operates as a loss, I think. If it's ever going to become it's own entity - it has to be able to generate cash and I don't know if Mojo Rawley and Baron Corbin can get it done.
